2nd Annual Princeton Children's Book Festival

Please join us on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from noon- 5:00 pm for our 2nd Annual Princeton Children’s Book Festival at the Princeton Public Library. 34 very talented children’s authors and illustrators will be spending their afternoon reading from their work, demonstrating their art, discussing and signing their books and meeting and greeting their fans. Books will be sold by Books, Bytes and Beyond.

This year we are thrilled to have 2007 Caldecott Medal Winner David Wiesner, Laura T. Barnes, Michael Buckley (Sisters Grimm series), Margery Cuyler, Dy Anne Di Salvo, Sarah Beth Durst, Amy Hest, Tina Louise (yes from Gilligan’s Island!), Rose Kent, Jennifer Morgan, Trinka Hakes Noble, and Wendy Pfeffer to name a few.

There will also be lots of great music throughout the afternoon provided by our emcee and Philadelphia guitar legend Kenn Kweder playing for the grown-ups, Alex and The Kaleidoscope Band and Miss Amy. We’ll also have face painting, slight of hand magician, stilt walkers and a balloon artist. I hope everyone can come out and join us for this very exciting rain or shine event.

Summer time and the living is easy? NOT!

Welcome to the life of anyone in Youth Services! This is our busiest time of the year.

The fun begins for my department on May 5, 2007 when we host our first "Princeton Teen Book Bash" from noon to 5:00 pm or there abouts. This is a rain or shine event held in Princeton Public Library and on the Library Plaza.

We have such a talented slate of Young Adult authors participating in this event, I am amazed at who will be with us that afternoon. Along with this amazing group of authors we have the very amazing DJ; Scott Lowe of WPST & B 101.5 FM. Scott has been DJ'ing for years and still manages to keep it fresh and will be a great asset to this event. We are also anticipating participation from various local high school musical groups, afterall it is a TEEN event!

We are co-sponsered by The Packet Publications of Princeton, NJ and Barnes & Noble.

If you are in the area on this day, please stop by and say hello to me and Susan Conlon our Teen Services Librarian.
